MDVA-31021: slow import and export if many product options
The MDVA-31021 patch solves the issue when Import/Export takes longer than expected with large numbers of product options. This patch is available when the Quality Patches Tool (QPT) 1.0.7 is installed.
Affected products and versions
The patch is created for Adobe Commerce version:
Adobe Commerce on cloud infrastructure 2.3.1
Compatible with Adobe Commerce versions:
Adobe Commerce (all deployment methods) 2.3.0 - 2.4.1
NOTE
The patch might become applicable to other versions with new Quality Patches Tool releases. To check if the patch is compatible with your Adobe Commerce version, update the magento/quality-patches
package to the latest version and check the compatibility on the [!DNL Quality Patches Tool]: Search for patches page . Use the patch ID as a search keyword to locate the patch.
Issue
If there are 100,000 records or more in the catalog_product_option
table, the Import/Export function file validation takes longer than expected. Before Import/Export, to check option validation, Adobe Commerce loads product options for all existing products.
Prerequisites :
Adobe Commerce store with 5000 products with custom options. Each product should have at least four custom options with two or more options to choose from so that there are 100,000 records in catalog_product_option
table.
Steps to reproduce :
For an Import example: create a CSV import file with one of the SKUs from the Commerce Admin.
Add four custom options to the CSV import file.
Try to import the CSV file from the Commerce Admin.
Expected results :
The Import or Export function completes as expected. Validation takes less than 10 seconds to complete with one product.
Actual results :
The Import or Export function takes longer than expected. Validation takes more than 10 seconds to complete with only one product.
